PSMISI Faculty Undergoes Intensive Training for New Robotics and AI Curriculum
In preparation for the pilot launch of its highly anticipated technology programs, the faculty and academic leadership of Palm Springs Montessori Integrated School, Inc. (PSMISI) officially kicked off their professional development with a rigorous two-day intensive training seminar on May 7 and 8, 2026.
The hands-on workshop, conducted on-campus in collaboration with the technical experts from PeOnz Math & Robotics, was designed to fully equip educators with the skills needed to implement the school’s new, age-structured Robotics and AI curriculum.
Hands-On Tinkering and Lesson Planning
During the collaborative sessions, the teaching faculty transitioned from observers to creators, actively assembling micro:bit rovers, testing electronic circuitry, and diving into hardware coding modules.
The training focused on the practical application of the four core pillars of the upcoming program:
Block-Based Logic: Mastering Scratch 3.0 pedagogy to help younger learners in the Elementary Department grasp foundational coding.
Physical Computing: Building and programming with Micro:bit systems, designed to engage intermediate and Junior High School (JHS) students.
Advanced Circuitry: Navigating the Arduino ecosystem to prepare Senior High School (SHS) students for real-world automation and engineering.
Additive Manufacturing: Learning the mechanics of digital design workflow for the school’s new Bambu Lab 3D Printing stations.
A Unified Team Driving Innovation
The training sessions were closely supervised and heavily supported by the school's administrative and academic council, ensuring that the rollout remains deeply aligned with the institution’s rigorous academic standards.
Spearheading the collaborative push alongside Finance Director Mr. Kit Gabriel Manantan, School Head Mr. Regim Villanda, and Director of Academic Affairs Ms. Monica Jacoba were the department moderators who will oversee the curriculum's direct integration into the classrooms:
Ms. Ginilyn Madrogaba (Elementary Department)
Mr. Aurelio Jacoba (Junior High School Department)
Mr. Rockwell Llanto (Senior High School Department)
"Empowering Teachers to Inspire the Future"
"Before we can inspire our students to innovate, our educators must lead the way," the school administration shared. "This two-day immersion ensures that our teachers are not only comfortable with the new hardware, but are completely prepared to cultivate analytical thinking and creativity in our classrooms."
With the faculty training successfully completed, PSMISI stands fully prepared to welcome the upcoming academic terms as a premier hub for modern, tech-driven Montessori education in the region.
