Palminians Join Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill to Boost Disaster Preparedness
In a clear demonstration of safety awareness and proactive disaster readiness, the student body and faculty of Palm Springs Montessori Integrated School, Inc. (PSMISI), actively participated in the Nationwide Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) on June 18, 2026.
The school-wide exercise was conducted to equip young learners and school personnel with the life-saving skills required during seismic emergencies, strictly reinforcing the standard "Duck, Cover, and Hold" protocol.
Key Highlights of the Drill
Execution of Core Protocols: Younger students successfully executed the "Duck, Cover, and Hold" procedure under their classroom desks, demonstrating the institution's commitment to early safety education.
Orderly Evacuation: Following the simulated tremors, students across all grade levels evacuated their classrooms systematically to gather at designated safe open areas.
Evacuation Assembly:
Early childhood and primary students huddled safely in the open courtyard, maintaining their protective head cover while guided closely by faculty members.
Senior and intermediate students maintained an orderly, seated defensive position in a designated open grounds zone, showing high levels of discipline during the drill.
Safety First: The successful execution of this second-quarter drill underscores the commitment of the PSMISI community to cultivate a culture of preparedness. By transforming theoretical safety instructions into practical, muscle-memory actions, Palminians demonstrate readiness to protect themselves and one another during an actual emergency.
